The Supervisory Board of BEOS AG

Professor Stephan Bone-Winkel (1965) is the founder of BEOS AG and serves as a Member of the Supervisory Board. He is also the Managing Partner of BEOS Beteiligungs-GmbH & Co. KG and CEOS Investment GmbH. 

He studied Business Administration at the University of Cologne and the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in Paris. After his studies he initially developed retail real estate for his family, before serving as a research associate under Karl-Werner Schulte at the European Business School (EBS) in 1990, where he graduated from the school’s first Real Estate programme. From 1993 to 1995, he was responsible for establishing the EBS Real Estate Academy in Berlin as its Managing Director, and from 1995 to 1997 he was a property developer in Berlin for Deutsche Bank AG. He then founded BEOS at the end of 1997, together with two partners. In 2003, Prof. Bone-Winkel was appointed to the Endowed Chair for Real Estate Development at the European Business School.

In 2006 he became Honorary Professor for Real Estate Development at the University of Regensburg (IREBS).

Stephan Bone-Winkel has written and edited a host of publications on the subjects of real estate development, investment and asset management. He regularly publishes the newsletter “weiter denken Impuls” for BEOS. He is a founding member of the Society for Property Researchers, Germany (gif) and the EBS alumni association, immoebs e.V. He is also the co-editor of the ZIÖ German Journal of Real Estate Research and “Schriften zu Immobilienökonomie und Immobilienrecht“ of IREBS. He is an active member of numerous committees and associations, including the ZIA German Property Federation’s Scientific Advisory Board, the Executive Committee of ULI Germany and the Advisory Board of Expo-Real.

In 2014 he received the ULI Leadership Award in the Real Estate Industry category. Together with Ingo Holz, he was recognised as one of the “Leading Minds of the Real Estate Industry” by the trade magazine, Immobilienmanager in 2015.

Dr. Ingo Holz (1964) is a founding partner of BEOS AG and serves as a Member of the Supervisory Board. 

He studied Business Administration at the University of Mannheim, where he also achieved his doctorate degree. In parallel, he graduated from the European Business School’s Real Estate Academy as a Real Estate Economist. Dr. Holz started his real estate career in 1993 at the Deutsche Immobilien Anlagegesellschaft mbH, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bank AG specialising in German and international real estate investment and development.

In 1997, Dr. Holz founded BEOS together with Prof. Stephan Bone-Winkel, and developed the company into the leading asset and investment management company in the German industrial real estate sector. In 2013, 2015 and most recently in 2017, BEOS was the only real estate company to be recognised as one of the best employers of the “Deutsche Mittelstand” in Germany.

In 2007, Dr. Ingo Holz was one of the finalists in the “EY Entrepreneur of the Year” competition.

Along with Prof. Bone-Winkel, his long-standing business partner, he was rewarded one of the “Leading Minds of the Real Estate Industry” in 2015 by the “Immobilienmanager”. In doing so, the independent jury acknowledged the outstanding achievement of launching numerous special funds for institutional SME investors, which saw BEOS enter an entirely new market in 2010.

Since 2015, Dr. Ingo Holz has been a Mentor-participant in the IMMOment mentoring programme, headed by IMMOebs. He is an active supporter of this program, which is designed to promote personal and professional career development within the real estate industry.
Dr. Ingo Holz is committed to the BEOS company motto “think ahead” and is a sought-after invitee in podium discussions and industry events. He also lectures in investment, finance and real estate development at two universities, TU Berlin and the University of Wuppertal.
His countless contributions to journals and other publications attest to his extensive real estate expertise.

Stefan Mächler is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BEOS AG. Since September 2014, Mr Mächler has been Group CIO and member of the Corporate Executive Board of the Swiss Life Group and member of the Executive Board of Swiss Life Asset Managers.

After graduating in law from the University of St. Gallen, Stefan Mächler worked for Credit Suisse Group for 18 years in the fields of capital markets and asset management. After nine years abroad, which included various positions in Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul and Frankfurt, he returned to Switzerland in early 1999 as Managing Director of Sales & Marketing Europe and Switzerland for Credit Suisse Asset Management. At the same time, he was the driving force behind the foundation of the listed real estate company Swiss Prime Site AG, of which he was Chairman of the Board of Directors until 2005. He spent 2005 to 2009 with Deutsche Bank, where he was initially responsible for Family Offices in Switzerland, before taking over as CEO of Privatbank Rüd, Blass & Cie AG for the last two years. From 2009 to 2014, Stefan Mächler was Head of Asset Management at Mobiliar as a member of Group Management and Chief Investment Officer.

Hermann Inglin has been COO and a member of the Executive Board of Swiss Life Asset Managers since 2006.

Inglin started his career at Swiss Life in 1981 and held various specialist positions in actuarial mathematics, accounting and controlling until 1994. He was then appointed to management positions in accounting, controlling and actuarial services for Switzerland and at Swiss Life Group level until 2005.

Michael Westerhove has been with CORPUS SIREO since 2005. In his roles as CDO and CIO, he is responsible for all of the CORPUS SIREO Group’s real estate investment and development activities in the markets he serves. Furthermore, he is responsible for all real estate transactions executed by the investment vehicles managed by CORPUS SIREO and Swiss Life’s own investment companies within the framework of the Swiss Life Group’s coordinated European strategy. Prior to his career at CORPUS SIREO, this business and real estate economist held various positions within the HOCHTIEF Group. Most recently, as a board member and authorised signatory, Mr Westerhove was responsible for general building activities at HOCHTIEF AG and the Group’s property development business.
